Vacuum circuit-breakers type BPC-6 are designed for switching electrical circuits in normal and emergency modes in three-phase alternating current networks of 50 (60) Hz frequency and 6 kV rated voltage for ungrounded or partially grounded neutral systems. Circuit-breakers are equipped with electromagnetic drive and intended for installation in indoor switchgear cubicles as well as auxiliaries of thermal and nuclear power plants.
BPC-6 circuit-breakers are designed to be used in indoor switchgears series KU-6S of auxiliaries of thermal and nuclear power plants.

Design
BPC-6 circuit-breakers are structurally made of the following parts: auxiliary position contacts of the circuit-breaker and flag indicator, switching block, condenser discharging tumbler switch, control PCB, electromagnet, condenser, manually-operated switching-off device, meter, three poles, three supporting insulators (with peak withstand current of 128 kA), interlocking mechanism, shaft, frame and row of terminals. The front panel of the circuit-breaker houses a meter display, a circuit-breaker position flag eyeglass and a hole for manual switching-off lever.
Each circuit-breaker pole consists of an insulating rode with a pressing spring mechanism, a flexible or sliding connection, upper and lower terminals, a vacuum interrupter and an insulating housing. Vacuum interrupters are filled with cast epoxy compound, which safely protects them from mechanical and electrical damage. The poles of circuit-breakers rated for 2500 A and 3150 A current are fitted with a cooling radiator.
